Compute
Blahaj Cloud Compute offers flexible and high-performance virtual machines for all kinds of workloads.
This service is in Public BetaSelf-service provisioning of Compute Instances is not yet available. Please contact us to provision new instances.
Introduction
Blahaj Cloud Compute lets you provision virtual machines with high flexibility which can be customized to fit any workload required.
There are no pre-configured machine types. Virtual CPUs, Gigabytes of RAM and Storage can be configured in increments of one.
All Compute instances run on AMD EPYC processors with at least 2 GHz base clock speed.
Storage
All Compute instances are backed by local NVMe storage in RAID 10. Optionally, RAID 10 HDD network-based volumes can be added to virtual machines for affordable mass storage. All physical drives used in Blahaj Cloud are specialized datacenter drives.
As a courtesy, primary NVMe storage of Compute instances is automatically backed up every night to an off-site location for disaster recovery purposes. Please note that we make no guarantees on this and it remains your responsibility to make regular backups. For this reason, we charge a 50€ fee for restoring these backups if the reason for needing the restore falls outside of our responsibility. HDD storage volumes are not backed up automatically.
Confidential Compute
Confidential Compute is a security feature optionally provided by Blahaj Cloud at no additional charge. It uses the AMD SEV technology to encrypt the instance's memory using a per-instance key residing in the CPU's trusted execution environment. Please note that Blahaj Cloud does not support SEV-SNP, so guest attestation is not available.
Confidential Compute requires UEFI to be enabled. Secure Boot should also be enabled in order for AMD SEV to be sensible.
There is a small performance penalty for enabling AMD SEV, but it should be negligible for most use cases.
The Blahaj Cloud Console will always report 100% memory usage for Confidential Compute instances because the hypervisor is not able to determine the actual amount of memory used.
NAT64
Blahaj Cloud supports NAT64 out of the box. This lets you use IPv6-only instances while still being able to access IPv4-only internet services such as GitHub. Please note that using NAT64 may slightly lower network performance.
You may use any public DNS64 server or use the Blahaj Cloud one.
